INSURANCE COVERAGE

 

Members of the centers Board of Director and Staff can be sued for things that happen at the center, unfair labor practices, employee dishonesty and others.

 

The board is responsible for making sure the center obtains proper coverage to protect its center and those on the board.

 

It is important that the board review at least the types of insurance listed below and choose appropriately for the best protection. Strongly recommend that the Board Of Directors consult with legal/insurance expert concerning appropriate insurance coverage.

·       Property

·       Directors and Officers Errors and Omissions Insurance

·       Malpractice

·       Professional Errors and Omissions Insurance

·       Insurance for Activities of Persons Who Volunteer in the Center

·       Fidelity Bonds

·       3D Policies: Dishonesty, Disappearance, and Destruction

·       Fiduciary Liability: Covering losses from improper management of benefits plans.

 

 It is the responsibility of the board to seek appropriate insurance expertise in this area.
