Job Description

 

Treasurer of the Board of Directors and Chairperson, Finance Committee

 

Office:  Treasurer

 

Term:  One Year

 

Reports to:  Board of Directors, President of the Board

 

Time Requirements:    Per Month

                                               

                                                Board of Director’s Meeting                            2 hours

                                                Finance Committee Meeting                           1 hour

                                                Meeting with Executive Director and staff       2 hours

                                                Fund Raising and Activities Attendance                      4 hours

                                                Preparation and Planning                                           4 hours

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            13 hours

 

Responsibilities:          Plan and conduct Finance Committee meetings.

 

Assure the affairs of the Finance Committee are conducted in a manner that will fulfill the commission and responsibilities as outlined for the committee.

 

Report to the Board of Directors on the financial position of the Center and report policy recommendations as formulated by the committee.

 

Generally monitor the financial operations of the Center.

 

Participate in Board of Director’s meetings.

 

Participate in fund raising and other activities of the Center.

 

Qualifications:             An interest in the needs of disabled persons.

 

Financial background preferably with some experience in the non-profit accounting and reporting systems.

 

At least one year of experience as a Board member of a non-profit organization.

 

                                    Able to relate well to people.

 

Experience conducting group meetings.

 

Willing to commit at least 13 hours per month to the Center.

 

Willing to make a conscious effort to understand all programs and services of the Center as well as philosophy, goals and objectives.
